Italian industrial water-treatment company CANNON Artes has won a contract to engineer and supply an advanced water-treatment plant for the Shuqaiq Power Plant in Saudi Arabia’s Jazan region. The 3 GW combined-cycle gas-fired project is located on the Red Sea coast and is being delivered for EPC contractors Orascom Construction and Técnicas Reunidas, with Saudi Electricity Company as the end client.

CANNON Artes will provide process design, detailed engineering, equipment procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing and delivery of the water-treatment system. The system will supply treated water for different operational needs of the power plant.

The solution will use advanced membrane-based technologies, including seawater desalination, water purification and polishing processes. This will ensure reliable production of high-quality treated water while improving efficiency, operational stability and resource use.

The contract strengthens CANNON Artes’ partnership with Orascom Construction and Técnicas Reunidas. It also highlights the growing role of water treatment in large power projects, where reliable water quality is essential for cooling, boiler feed and other plant operations.
