Veralto Corporation has acquired India-based ultraviolet water-treatment specialist Alfaa UV, expanding the company’s UV disinfection portfolio and strengthening its presence in the Indian industrial and commercial water markets.
Alfaa UV will be integrated into Trojan Technologies, Veralto’s water-treatment business. The financial value and other commercial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed in the company’s announcement.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Alfaa UV develops UV-based water and air purification systems for industrial, commercial, municipal and residential applications. Its solutions are used in sectors including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage processing, building services and industrial water treatment.
The company operates a manufacturing facility at Talegaon in Maharashtra and has more than two decades of experience in UV treatment technology. Alfaa UV’s official company profile states that it designs, manufactures and supplies a range of UV purification systems and provides sales and service support across India.
Through the acquisition, Veralto expects to combine Alfaa UV’s locally developed treatment systems, regional market knowledge and Indian service capabilities with Trojan Technologies’ international UV-treatment portfolio.
Trojan Technologies provides UV disinfection and filtration solutions through brands including TrojanUV, Aquafine, VIQUA, AQUAFIDES and Aria Filtra. The Canada-based company serves municipal, industrial and residential water-treatment markets and operates as part of Veralto’s Water Quality segment.
Veralto said the combination would help it offer more locally tailored and application-specific treatment systems while expanding its ability to serve customers in India and other developing markets across the Asia-Pacific region.
Melissa Kapity, Veralto’s Senior Vice President and Chief Segment Officer for Water Quality, said growing water scarcity and demand for more sustainable industrial water solutions were increasing the importance of UV treatment technologies. She added that the combined businesses would seek to scale these solutions across India and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The acquisition brings together an established Indian UV-equipment manufacturer and a global water-treatment technology provider. For industrial and commercial users, the combination could potentially provide broader access to UV treatment technologies supported by local manufacturing, application expertise and service capabilities.
The transaction is particularly relevant to industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverage production, hospitality and commercial buildings, where microbial control and dependable water-treatment performance are important operational requirements.
However, Veralto has not yet announced details regarding product integration, future manufacturing investment, workforce changes or the timetable for combining Alfaa UV with Trojan Technologies. The practical impact on customers and the Indian market will become clearer as the integration progresses.
