South Korea is sending a public-private delegation to Kazakhstan to expand cooperation in the water industry and help Korean companies enter the Kazakh market. The three-day visit began on Monday and will run through Wednesday.
The delegation includes officials from South Korea’s Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, along with representatives from nine Korean water companies and state-run entities.
During the visit, the group will meet Kazakh water-management agencies, visit water and wastewater-treatment facilities and review ongoing pilot projects. The aim is to identify areas for technological cooperation and new business opportunities.
South Korea and Kazakhstan have already signed a memorandum of understanding on smart water-management technologies. They have also carried out pilot projects involving Korean water-industry products and technologies.
The Foreign Ministry said it will continue matching Kazakhstan’s water-management needs with Korean companies’ advanced technologies. The visit reflects growing international interest in smart water systems, treatment technology and cross-border water-industry partnerships.
