QUA EnviQ MBR Transforms Munson Point Water Management

QUA’s submerged membrane bioreactor technology was integrated into a decentralized treatment system at a Texas housing development designed to meet wastewater quality requirements.

Following installation, the system met Munson Point Subdivision’s treated-water requirements and allowed discharge directly to Lake Texoma, according to QUA’s case study. The project demonstrates the application of submerged MBR technology within a modular, decentralized wastewater treatment system.  Munson Point Subdivision, a housing development in Denison, Texas, adopted a decentralized wastewater treatment solution using QUA’s EnviQ submerged membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology. The development needed to address challenges with its existing onsite wastewater treatment system and meet specified water-quality requirements. It selected a modular system intended for rapid installation and operation at the site. The reported plant capacity is 10,000 gallons per day, equivalent to 38 m³ per day.

QUA’s EnviQ submerged membrane technology was integrated into the EveraSkid decentralized system. The company describes the solution as a way to improve treatment performance and operational efficiency while supporting the maintenance requirements of MBR facilities. The installation was designed to provide consistent ultrafiltration-quality effluent for the subdivision’s wastewater management needs.

The EnviQ membranes use a PVDF flat-sheet design and a proprietary diffuser system. According to QUA, the technology produces effluent with turbidity below 1 NTU and achieves approximately 5 to 6 log reduction of bacteria. The company identifies durability, consistent filtration and operational efficiency as features of the membrane system.

The decentralized configuration offers a treatment approach for a housing development without relying on extensive central infrastructure. QUA describes such systems as flexible, efficient and scalable for smaller communities that need to meet water-quality requirements.
