Rochester Midland Expands Water Treatment Platform with Strategic Acquisition of ClarityChem
ROCHESTER, NY — In a move that significantly strengthens its technical services footprint, Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC) has announced the acquisition of ClarityChem, a New York-based provider of integrated commercial, institutional, and industrial water treatment solutions.
ClarityChem brings more than three decades of specialized experience to Rochester Midland's growing portfolio. The company is widely recognized for delivering comprehensive water treatment programs across diverse applications, including boilers, cooling towers, biocides, closed-loop systems, wastewater treatment, and industrial odor control. Beyond specialized specialty chemical products, ClarityChem provides high-level consultative services for industrial and municipal wastewater systems, steering projects from full-scale system design and product sourcing through to final program implementation.
Driving Geographic and Capability Growth
The acquisition aligns with Rochester Midland’s strategy to scale its route-based technical services and offer advanced, differentiated water solutions across expanding geographic markets.
"We are happy to welcome ClarityChem to the Rochester Midland team," said Jim White, CEO of Rochester Midland. "This acquisition accentuates our shared commitment to customer-first values and our ability to deliver cutting-edge water treatment solutions across our growing geographies."
For ClarityChem’s leadership, partnering with an established sector leader offers the necessary infrastructure to scale their existing customer solutions.
"We are excited to partner with Rochester Midland's preeminent water treatment platform," noted Brian Seifert and David Janicki, owners of ClarityChem, in a joint statement. "Their deep expertise, broad service capabilities, and resources made them an exceptional choice as we contemplated our options."
Looking Ahead
As industrial facilities and municipal utilities face mounting pressure to optimize water efficiency and meet strict environmental compliance standards, consolidation in the water treatment sector continues to accelerate. Rochester Midland indicates that this acquisition is part of a broader, ongoing growth strategy.
"We continue to seek additional partnership opportunities with like-minded businesses to enhance our world-class water treatment platform with differentiated and value-added capabilities for our customers," White added.
